Get that? We consume THREE FREAKIN’ MILLION PIECES OF FALAFEL EVERY SINGLE DAY.
At least according to this Al-Rai article.
One of my favorite personal stories is related to falafel, and it happened when I first moved to Jordan ten years ago.
That day, I walked to a falafel shop in Jabal Al-Hussein, and asked the old man to give me falafel for 1JD. You see, falafel in Saudi Arabia isn’t cheap; 1JD would get you around eight pieces. To my horror and surprise, I ended up with a bag of a HUNDRED pieces of falafel. It was one of the bigger culture shocks I had that year.
Yes. Falafel. Three million.
Now I want falafel.
