On Falling in Love with South Korea

Some experiences you change your perspective on life, which in turn changes you as a human being. Today, after a week spent in South Korea, I am a different person.

After serving as a judge in Samsung’s WOW Traveler MENA competition, I packed a small bag, a camera, my phone, and then boarded a plane to Seoul, the capital of South Korea and the HQ of Samsung.

Korea, where do I start? The beautiful peninsula is easily the most gorgeous and most inspiring place I’ve been to. The people are the friendliest, most gracious, and cutest people of any country I’ve visited, although we could barely communicate given the language barrier. Given the heart-wrecking history of South Korea, its current economic situation (14th in the world by GDP rank) is awe-inducing. Their culture and traditions are exotic to say the least to me as an Arab, but still very amusing and heart-warming.

That’s a lot of superlatives I know, but I actually mean every one of them. You see, Korea stole my heart.

With that said, I am going to be bombarding you with posts on my experience.

In the meantime, here are some pictures of South Korea:

It makes me so happy when I hear others love SK as much as I do. Love all the shots, Roba.
