Are they Roba? The stoic moral they promote sounds noble – stoicism has always been the most noble reaction a human being can exhibit in dire times – but I would also say that the teleological implications here are too obvious and strong that I suspect the brand of stoicism they advocate to be nothing but defeatism in disguise, and also if science is about anything, then it is about purging teleological arguments out of our lives.
