I can’t describe the smell of Nabulsi soap and it’s really bothering me. Every time I take a shower, I sniff the block until the scent is neutralized, but I can’t liken it to anything else.
And no, it doesn’t smell like olive oil.
So, help. What does sabooneh Nabelseyeh smell like?

Hey Roba, I’ve been asking myself this same question lately as I’ve rediscovered the wonderful cleansing properties of this soap. I think it comes from the laurel in it, as I’ve never sniffed straight lye. There are only a few ingredients, so I’m thinking it must be the laurel. Keep writing and maybe someday you will find out when they crown you Nobel Laureate and you enjoy the sweet smell of success! Until then, each scrub will help your senses come closer to the dream. :o)

Let me tell you something and be prepared: there is no such thing as a smell, color or taste described. All three are things you experience yourself and yourself alone, and there is no way on earth you can describe it to another human being. Its a very personal and individual experience, to look at a color, smell something or taste something. Non transferable knowledge. Well at least until they invent a way to plug a USB into our brains and connect them to other brains in an organic VPN!

But that can’t be true Khalid.. as a person who writes, I refuse to believe that. There’s something about scents that can really take you away when you read about them. No?

But it doesn’t sting at all when it gets into your eyes. I always wash my face with it.

LOL! have you ever seen the process of making them? I think it defines its own smell.. the smell of a “sabooneh nabelseyeh” and i dont think you will find any other thing that smells like it
