It’s a party at the Assi home when someone brings the first hamleh (fresh green chickpeas) treat of the season. I have to say, it’s my favorite thing about spring! :)
Ahed: “Fuad got hamleh!”
Mom: “The boys have hamleh!”
Roba: “It smells like hamleh!”
Abed: “They called me and told me they got hamleh, I will murder them if they finished it!”
Musa: “Hamleh!”
Hisham: “Where is the hamleh?”
Omar: “Chocolate.”
Gus: “Let’s go get more hamleh!”
Fuad: “I got all the hamleh at the grocers.”
Fouad2: “Damn. I want more hamleh.”
Hamleh is a gazillion times better tasting than edamame.

I agree with you – better than Edamame and we get these in India too. Yum when they’re that fresh and green!
