I’m Being Sarcastic

Doing most of my communication through the written word, I often face the problem of people not realizing that dude, I’m being sarcastic.

Sarcasm, Inc are here to solve the problem, as they introduced the SarcMark, the “sarcasm punctation mark”.

SarcMark

The idea is brilliant, but the application is poor, so I do not think it will take off any time soon (if ever, in its current form). Visually, it is bordering on hideous: it looks like a man trying to keep away his sneeze by holding his nose. It looks even worse written down, like a heart gone wrong. Someone needs to suggest an already existing glyph in system fonts that isn’t often used, like this one: ±.

Cool idea anyway. [Via, Hattip: Eddie]

Some geek types have been know to use or
using the end tag markup notation e.g. this sarcasm glyph looks amazing

I am not sure how widely used that is!

No, u are actually acting as a bitch! That is all!

Sorry about my earlier post, the tag based mark-up I used was striped, probably for fear of an injection attack. Unfortunately that has rendered the comment meaningless and obviously caused some offence! Ah well…

Boy, yeah, I noticed that they were stripped, but I figured you used ? :)
Don’t worry about the offended person, I think he was offended by me rather than you. Who knows though, he didn’t really give any explanation :)
