One word I can never, ever, ever spell

Mediterranean.

I have tried to learn how to spell it a million times over, but I always butcher it so hard that even the spellchecker can never recognize it. I always have to resort to Google.

Darn.

What’s your least favorite word to spell?

    Mediterranean. I have tried to learn how to spell it a million times over, but I always butcher it so hard that even the spellchecker can never recognize it.

    I had that problem too! Until I looked up the etymology.

    medi = middle

    terran = earth

    an = suffix meaning “belonging to the stated place”

    Put the three together and there you have it!

    My nightmare word is “bureaucrat”…. too many effing vowels! I keep thinking it can’t possibly actually be spelled like!

  • http://andfaraway.net Roba

    Haha, great words guys. I have to admit I have some problems with many of the ones mentioned here, especially bureaucratic (DAMN).

    It’s good to know I’m not alone! :)

    Craig, I think you just solved my life’s problem. Thank you! :)
