Aramram: Digitizing Ammanite Popculture

With Aramram, damn, it works well. Their website is like a little briefcase of people, sounds, and sights of Saturdays gone by. Of products, of places, of characters, of walls. I don’t know how the hell it’s possible, but browsing through this website actually makes me feel nostaligic. And I was in Amman a second ago. Oh, another second ago. More seconds as I type. Still in Amman. Freaky.

It’s actually the first time I check it out since its launch (though they’re relaunching the design today).

A few videos that caught my eye:

Aro, a graffiti artist:

Sklakhi:

Check out their cool videos here.

They have a launch party today at Darat Al-Funun at 8:00. Check it out as well. Here’s the Facebook events page.

Finally someone is here to kick the shit out of the amman film cooperative. i am sick and tired of how they ruin jordan’s image with their retarded films. We should all support them with money. I am not sure the USAID grant is big enough to sustain them. Aramaram films is how I would like the world to see Jordan.

Aramram… well this website is one of the “most wanted” things Jordan needs! … besides a “stable economy”
Hope that their umbrella goes wider and wider so that every Jordanian can get his “own” dose of “Alternative Media”!
