Who is this guy?

Now that we share everything, I have acquired equal shares in this space which was actually the plan all along.

(Evil laughter)

So expect a lot less artsy-fartsy pictures, and expect a lot more basketball, and of course, more nonsense…and rants.

The picture below is of al-Ahli basketball Club celebrating a title sometime in the early 1990s:

After finishing in second place for 15 straight years between 1975 and 1990, al-Ahli started winning titles in 1991 when Nasser Bushnaq joined them.
Bushnaq who was playing in Kuwait, returned to Jordan in the wake of Iraq’s reacquisition of its 19th district. Ahli basketball no longer exists, since the club canceled the game after realizing they won’t be able to compete in the corporate-dominated league.

Appearing in the picture (left to write):

Top Row
Samir Morqoss
Coach Sasha (Russian coach)
Adnan Naghaway (Club president)
Yanal alKhass
Nasser Bushnaq
Kamal Hilo

Middle raw:
Youssef Zaghlool

Sitting:
Marwan Ma’tooq
Mitthat Nabulsi (taxi driver)
Zeid alKhass
Ramez Hammodeh
Mohammad Shamali

Now if anyone can name the last two players (right next to the flag)or identify anyone else appearing in this photo, they will be the winners of the first Moose Nest tri-weekly award.

man the whole country used to sit wacth the Orthodoxi-Ahli matches those days

I remember once toward the end of a very competitive game the electricity went off, I had to wait for the next morning in the newspaper to know who won the game, that’s the pre-internet era

I’ll just make a guess that one of these players in Naser Alawneh -the one with moustache-

aaammm i was reading this post when something caught my eye and i hope u were being sarcastic…now everyone’s entiteled to their opinions but do u really think that the 1990 invasion of kuwait was “reaquasition”??

if soo, just wanted to know what ur evidence would be on kuwait being part of iraq…thanks

    hi,
There is no reason to act as if shiekdoms and little entities created by the British mandate a mere 80 year ago are long-standing empires with deep-rooted histories. Although the “Arab unity” and “removing the imperialism-created borders” rhetoric sounds a little outdated, this does not mean that we should consider such made-up states and private farms something sacred.

So take it easy and long live the free independent Kuwait – that was never a part of Iraq or any other country. It has been always owned by the virtuous ruling family since the beginning of time – god bless them and bless their citizens.

“…which was the plan all along”? My friend, buying your own hosting account is much cheaper than getting married in order to use your spouse’s. Next time, do some shopping and weight your options.
