Life, 2.0

Out of no where, my brother Omar looks up at us, “What computer power would you like to have in real life?”

“Ctrl+Z,” I say. “I mean, I use it sooo often when I’m computering and I often wish that I could Ctrl+Z in life too.”

“That’s lame. Especially since you will only be able to Ctrl+Z a limited amount of steps, which really means you won’t get any benefit. I’d want to be able to Google everything. Imagine finding anything you want with a click of thought! Lost keys no more!”

“I guess you have a point. What about Ctrl+Alt+Delete? Is that like suicidal?”

What about you, what sort of computer super power would you want to have?

Well, Omar’s choice is fine. I’d soooo love to google my socks ;-)

CTRL Z (undo) is about undoing a short-term mistake.

    1. The real prize would be Save/Restore so that you can fix the really big mistakes. This is what makes time-travel so alluring. What if I could go back in time and tell Saddam what’s going to happen to the whole region after he invades Kuwait, or tell Arabs to accept the UN partition plan because the deal they will get 50 years later won’t be even half as good, or tell the emperor of Japan what will happen to Hiroshima and Nagasaki if Japan enters the war……

    2. Then again, I could copy and paste Palestine, and put all the Arabs in one and the Israelis in another. Of course knowing them they will then fight about who gets the original one!

LoL :D this is fun. Only one?? I personally could use a Google search, and would love to be awake and functioning for so long… but if I were to choose one… hmmmm… CTRL ALT Delete and then find the program that’s not responding and press END NOW!

Force Quit, or no viruses…although those are both Mac things. I like both the Google idea or the Control/Command Z. Instant Wikipedia capabilities would be nice.

    anti-spam: batata (yaaay!) lol
I want to be able to esc :D

Does it have to be one power?

I want CTRL Z definintely. But also upgradability. I would also like a firewall I can allow or block people’s voices through. May be also the ability to delete unused files (think quick weight loss).

ANd OH! Networking 24/7. (with the aforementioned firewall)

probably ctrl alt del just because there are some people who don’t respond much to normal communication…morons need to be shut down
although the google thing sounds great

Print screen. I always imagined how cool it would be to take pictures whenever you blink, a picture with every bat of an eye-lash…

I’d like everything that people have mentioned so far, plus F1. You never know when a little help might come in handy…

I’d just be a Photoshop program and CROP. CROP CROP CROP. I’d crop off my butt, crop out annoying people around me, crop everything man. CROP.

Then, if I could have more Photoshop shortcuts embedded, I’d erase zits and pimples and wrinkled and white hairs and stuff. I’d be able to colour my outfits. I’d be able to paint money into my world.

Ok so I’m really shallow, whatever.

force quit all the people and relations I don’t like… =p

    Brilliant idea…life would be fun.

I would say “delete” but that might be so violent… So, firewall will do for the time being.

I would choose ctrl z “but after it becomes selective” and ctrl n

ctrl c and ctrl v will make my life much easier…

I am a software developer, so I can write programs to do what ever I like, so if I had a super computer !!!!

I will be the Architect of of the Matrix

Hmm… does having the power of a computer mean that you get the associated negatives as well?

Will I be walking around with my computer power and then for no apparent reason I will freeze up and not be able to do anything. Will the only way I would be able fix this is start my day over again from the point at which I wake up?

If I walk into a store or a new room, will I sometimes have to wait like half a minute, for everything to fully materialize?

Will I be incessantly chased by seedy characters shouting “VIAGRA, VIAGRA!”

Will there be a group of Nigerian men, who periodically tell me that they need my help to move a vast sum of money into this country?

The trade offs might not be worth it.

ummmm … I think i need only one software to be installed on my brain, something like Adobe aftereffects where i can edit my life stream … delete some scenes add some effects synchronize it with music …

That would be nice … and this reminds of a movie for robin william … I dont remember the name now …

When I was learning to use a Mac almost 20 years ago, I went home from work one day and rearranged some furniture. I moved a table or something, then realized I liked it better where I’d had it before.

And for about a quarter-second, I actually thought, “Oh, I’ll just do Cmd-Z and undo it.”

    That was weird.
