Xenon

I’m dying to know which person woke up one day and decided that it would be an absolutely brilliant idea to line every single bridge and tunnel in the city of bridges and tunnels with bright blue stringy light?

Thank you, whoever you are, for making our city look like the salon interior of a very “zenon” Ammanite taxi.

I would have used the money to paint these tunnels and bridges instead, but what do I know.

Did you enjoy this? Be awesome and share:

actually, i think it was a good idea. they’re not meant to be decorative. they put them up for the winter so that people stop running into the circles in the thick fog that usually grips the city. they’ve actually helped.

but if you wanna see something funny…go to duwar il da5eleeyeh, where the amman governor’s office is and see what they did to their building. i think they used the leftovers to make christmas lights.

me toooo!!! i was telling myself, didn’t they learn from the abdoon bridge lights they are not pretty or eye comfortable, i even keep thinking about their power supply!! if only i can find it, hehehehe

I kinda like it, more than the stupid neon lights on the Abdoun bridge, that are always burnt out anyway. So inconsistent. EFT.

Uhm I think that the xenon lights are the bright white ones, not the blue ones. However, I call those the Taxis ones. :D

I don’t know I kind of liked them, it feels strange. :D

    My God!
This is one of the things that really irritate me so much, I actually wished I had a blog to rant about it!!
So thank you for bringing it up!
On the twirling bridge connecting Shmesani and Gardens street things get really tricky, this is a bridge I use a lot since I live in Shmesani, the bad effect of the blue neon on the eye is unbelievable! every time I forget and start looking at the lights it affects my sight that I stop seeing clearly for a couple of seconds. I now avoid looking at the BLUE NEONS while driving, in spite of the temptation ;)

Why do I have the feeling that the person who woke up with the urge to do this is the same person (or related to) the one who imports blue bright blue stringy lights? Or am I just being extra cynical now?

In any case the least they could have done is used different colours for different bridges so as to help people diffrentiate between them, now they all look exactly the same!

Although I like the idea of distinguishig the tunnels and bridges, but I don’t know about the rest of you guys, I feel it makes vision a bit blurry and distracts drivers.

the concept is ok, but maybe the implementation was poor. definately little less brightness well suit drivers better.

Modernizing the city is a hot topic rather than maintaining and planting it.

What if in few years, glass, steel and flashy blue “house music” went out of fashion???

I agree, it’s stupid (and very Vegasy.)

I actually likeed the blue lights, but not the abdoun bridge lights which are so bright you can’t enjoy the view, or maybe that’s the whole point!

  • Nart

well, I think it’s a ‘bright’ idea to light the bridges.. I think we need also to light the roads for idiot drivers as well.. any enhancement should be accepted with a huge welcome, it is really a good step not only I like.
