For a tasty fact, remove & lick

Welch’s is taking out full-page print ads in People magazine this month that give readers a chance to sample its grape juice by licking the ad. The front of the advertisement shows a huge bottle of the juice, while the back has a strip that peels up and off, with text that reads: “For a TASTY fact, remove & LICK.” [link]

While scent technology — such as scratch-and-sniff ads or fragrant ink
– is commonplace in magazines, lickable ads are still in the
experimental stages.

I think if I bought the magazine, I’d most definitely not be able to resist trying it out. Would you?

I might try it, but first I have to make sure no one read that magazine before…

Imagine people sitting at a beauty salon taking “sips” from the same magazine… ewww

It’s not a great sight to walk in somewhere and see someone licking a magazine.

    EWWWWWW
As much as I LOVE Welch’s grape juice, I’d never lick a magazine. Especially People magazine, probably everyone who stands on checkouts in supermarkets TOUCH that magazine.
It would be saner if they attached a pack of dried Welch’s juice for people to desolve and try at home.

Hmmm, since I work in an ER, and magazines seem kinda gross at my job, the mag would have to come plastic wrapped for me to not shudder at the thought. One of my coworkers once pointed out how many people lick their fingers to flip magazine pages… so perhaps it’s just a natural step.

Rubbing magazine perfume on seemed kind of desparate… I’d have to say licking grape juice off the pages would be the only thing lower. Although, I’d likely keep those cute hair care product samples they used to send. Those were sanitary though.

    Peace,
