Neutralized sounds from the past

Partly because of gorgeous sounds, partly beautiful memories, but I really love this song.

I personally prefer the new Lena Chamaylan version:

(play music)

The original is a Marcel Khalife / Omayma Khalil version, which Moose prefers, and since he introduced me to this song and since he’s the Marcel Khalife lover, I feel obliged to add it too:

(play music)

ِA bird peaked through the window and said “Oh, Nunu, hide me, please”. I asked him where he was from, he answered from the edges of the sky. I asked him where did you come from, he answered from the neighbors house. I asked him who are you afraid of, he answered that he had ran away from the cage. I asked him where his feather were, he answered that time has undone them. I held him against my heart and he was hurting from his pain, because before he broke his cage, he broke his voice and his wings.

My two-year son Zayd heard the first version by Lena Chamaylan and he said ‘nice music!’
    I really like it too.
    Keep them coming Roba.

You reminded of someone and some good old days:) ironic how “love” was the anti spam word.

  • Bilal- Black Jack

correct me if I am wrong, but both songs u posted above are by omayma’s. I tried to look online for the one by lena and couldn’t find it.

personally, I believe Omayma is one of the most beautiful voices in the arab world. i love her work especially with Marcel.

    thanks for posting!

i love this song but i have to admit that i prefer the version of Amal Murkus. try to download it it’s gorgeous.
The first time i heard the song i was in Israel visiting an institute that aims at developing peace and environment in the region.i was sitting there in a small room with americans, jordanian, palestinians, and israeli people sharing our thoughts about life and this song was playing in the background.
i never again felt this kind of peace and freedom.

Hey Roba, I second Bilal- I believe both versions you posted are with Omayma’s voice. I haven’t heard of a Lena Chamamyan version, but I would definitely want to hear it:)
