We would recommend the kabab dish, the seeneyeh kafta, and the “Beteinjan Rehaneh” aubergines dish.

Roba: Located in the 3rd floor of the Mecca Mall extension, this stand-alone Lebanese restaurant might as well be the best Lebanese food place in town, minus the fact that they don’t serve kubbeh nayeh (darn).
Their food though is quite delicious, very flavorful and always cooked to yuminess. We usually order their Kabab and kafta dishes, although we have tried their arayes and most of their cold mezzas, which are similarly pretty delicious. Yet yumminess aside, my favorite part about Rehaneh is that they always go the extra mile so that their food is made to not only please your taste buds, but to also please your eyes.

Add to that, Al-Rehaneh is the only suggestion that might make the mall-despising Moose agree to go to the mall.
Definitely recommended, if not for the delicious food and great prices, then for the friendly staff.

Moose: Other than the fact that it is in the mall, and malls are just plain evil, this is one of the best dinning options in Amman. The food is excellent – a family member who was visiting from overseas  rated their food much higher than  Tannureen (a fancy-shmancy Lebanese restaurant), and the menu offers some options that are hard to find at other places; the “Sinyyett Koftah” dish that is as close to home cooking as possible. The complementary stuff – a plate of boiled almonds, a collection of fresh vegetables, and a dessert plate – add value to the already cheap prices and gives a feeling of being an appreciated guest. The atmosphere is not bad at all, and if you ignore the little kids jumping on the trampoline right outside, it is very similar to any fancy restaurant.
Finally, the fact that they don’t even have the 10% service charge added to the bill (I always wondered if this addition even makes it to the pockets of the waiters), paired with the excellent service, has you feeling pretty happy about giving a generous tip.

Thanks Ruba for the review, actually all of them. Can you just add to the review a sample of the price of standard item, or at least the tab for a dinner for one person. other than that great post.

Another suggestion is that you make these little garphic labels at the end lead to each other … i mean if i click on “Ki”ss”ck of approval” it will lead to all the other places that have been kissed …

i like the settings … i will try it for sure in the summer …

good job la elek Roba :)

I love the wood tiles on the window and the Farsi typeface they used for the logo–very old-school yet refreshingly modern at the same time. It’s amazing how few Arabic restaurants have adopted modern decor–especially here in America. I mean the food is invariably going to be crap, so at least make the place look nice–I don’t wanna stare at your cheap plastic grape vines and generic pictures of the friggin’ Beirut corniche (no offense, Beirut).

Abu Dhabi in 2 weeks and I CAN’T BLOODY WAIT. I need me some Marroush!

I think it’s such a promising review, definitely makes me want to go there. The problem I faced is that I couldn’t find a decent, non-”fancy shmancy” Lebanese restaurant to enjoy food from in Amman and it made me mad because I don’t want to have burgers which are found here in London! hehe

Anyway, if not for the taste – I force myself into liking it and this is because of their BEAUTIFULLLLL logo, done in Farsi calligraphy. YAY to Calligraphy in logos! hehe

Thanks Robz, dalleiteeni 3ala a good place!

    Roba,
We actually were in mood for tabooleh and we just ordered that from Rihaneh, it was EXCELLENT! and the staff were extremely friendly…
Any how, I just wanted to share this with you, we went to Fuddruckers several times me and my hubby and it was YUMMY, we even invited friends after our first visit.
Last week I recommended the place to my sister and my parents, they all went for dinner and then ended up with a serious food poisoning! my mom stayed in bed for 3 days after that!!!!
I thought you should know this since you did a review on the place awhile ago!

I love your urban reviews. This one in particular made me crave egg plants :P
I have a question… are those reviews done in collaboration with those restaurants managements or they are a complete personal initiative?

  • 3awwad

My name is 3awwad. I am a typical Jordanian citizen. I work from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM and my salary does not exceed JD 250. You can call me “Monsieur Tout le monde” if you like. Excuse my low intelligence quotient, but it would be very nice to provide a review for Abu Musa For Karshat (Down Town). This place does not have an appealing graphic design or smell, but it’s very popular among lower middle class people of Amman.

Thanks for pointing this out; it sounds like a really quiet and cozy place. I like the interiors. However, I must say that I’ve found very few Jordanians who like Kibbeh Nayeh; we hardly even like rare steaks to begin with. So I’m not surprised that you didn’t find your favorite dish there!

What I like is that the place looks laid-back and it’s affordable; I mean Tannourreen is really overrated to me, not to mention that it is quite expensive.
