Malls

Although the malls and shops are in constant increase, it appears as if the consumers are increasing at a larger pace. We spent some time shopping this week, and wow, it’s crazy busy all over. We can literally say that there wasn’t a single parking spot available in the Mecca Mall parking lots; whether in the flat space outside or in their new tiered parking place, nor even anywhere around the vicinity, which is a huge change from when the mall first opened four years ago. People also to be actually shopping, its hard to maneuver inside the stores, and everything is so messy and chaotic. I also noticed that there are a lot more Gulfians this week than there were a few weeks ago, I guess it must be the Eid holiday.

They should’ve considered underground parking. I go to the mall during the day-time when I’m on night-shift so I can Shop In Peace !

    Salam Roba,
I want to ask you a favor. On the day before Eid (Friday night), go to Al-Hussein Street or Al-Balad between midnight/2am and take pictures of the people there. 2 years ago, the government closed all of the Al-Hussein street to cars, in order to fit the massive number of people who showed up to do last-minute-shopping before the Eid. It’s gets crazier by the hour. I think such pictures/coverage would be great for… I don’t know 7iber.com maybe :-) well, in reality, for us outside to remember the taste of Eid and consumerism of Jordan :-)
