I believe in evolution, but not that all life originated from a common ancestor that in turn originated by chance. That’s just bogus.

So, there needs to be plenty of corrections in this debate, so better late than never. No scientist says we came from monkeys, but apes. Therefore, I doubt any scientific study bothered proving it’s impossible, as it wasn’t proposed.

The argument that believing is a separate question.

As for facts, they should be left as facts. Yes, the majority of scientists in the field believe in evolution. No, we’ll never be sure, because we can’t rewind history. If we did we’d have a lot less arguments in general. While evidence is stronger to that man evolved from apes (such as chimps), most scientists think we need to strengthen a lot of the evidence — it’s the best idea science has got, but it’s not the strongest idea in the bag.

Now , believe in evolution? No scientist will say it’s a hundred percent, but no scientist will say gravity is a certainty either — no matter what, I can’t fly.

Evolution is classified as theory, because very few statements become anything stronger in science. That’s why gravity is a theory, albeit one proposed and supported by 300 years of studies. Thermodynamics is a theory, but we’ve never been able to find anything that suggests it’s wrong. Nuclear Fission and Fusion are theories, but the atom bomb (unfortunately) works.

Believe in evolution or don’t, but it’s the most practical theory out there (though with questions still). Not even scientists believe in all of its details unquestioningly, because that would go against being a scientist. How ever, it’s the best bet we’ve got.

Now, belief, which doesn’t need evidence, can argue against it, but not using the scientific theory.

it is easier to believe in the flying spaghetti monster than to believe in the veracity of the theory of evolution. That is all it is a theory and unfortunantely a lot of so called scientist, in their effort to be free of theism have grasped at just such a theory and built a whole so called science on such a foundation. I wonder how longer before some takes note and realizes that “the emperor has no clothes” and is not afraid to say so in the current so called scientific arena.
