What?

Today someone told me that he guessed I was originally Nabelseyeh.
“I see it in your face,” he said.
What?
Can you also tell that Noor is from Madaba?

  • http://moeys.net Moey

well, to be honest.. both of you are pretty girls.. and both of you look arab, which is good

  • nisreen

oh wow yr hairs grown!! its so pretty!!

  • kinzi

You two are so pretty! I can’t see Nabulsi or Madaba, but I can pick a Batarseh or a Hejazeen out of the crowd.

  • http://linasturmoil.blogspot.com Lina

Yeah one time a security person recognized from my face that I was from Madaba!! He was like “you can’t miss it!!” I don’t know about Nour =P Tololy once had an interesting post about this, how people can tell where you’re from by your face, I’ll try to find it.

Jordan can be a weird and amusing place :)

  • R3d

I guess it is becuase you have a big nose people can figure your from Nables, do you eat 7omos with everything, m2looba, sbane5, m7ashi!!!!

While I was browsing our pictures in flickr, I can’t help noticing that Jordanians are very beautiful people, I don’t know if I can differenciate Jordanians from Lebanese or Syrians, but I do recognize Iranians, another group of beautiful Middle eastern people. Well, maybe you can tell me the different features of these people! ;-)

    hey,

well to me i can get out Syrian ppl fast ,or let say Shwam exactly … lol

your pic , nice smile :)

  • http://todeardiary.blogspot.com Lilly

    Hi there

    you 2 looks pretty :)

  • Sara

Jordanians are pretty?!!! oh, please give me a brake.
some of them are pretty but not the majority. And most of the beautiful Jordanians have Syrian or any other origins.

  • Red Rose

Both of you are attractive girls.
In general we can know people from Sarkesian origins matlan, or latinos castanio girls, so every region has it’s distenctive touch on our facial expressions.
But It’s not easy sometimes to guess specially when parents come from diffrent places :)

  • http://me-in-jordan.blogspot.com OmAr

Ya, I can pick up Nabeleseyyeh easily, I’ve often done that, don’t ask how though!

  • http://ammar.sajdirealsoft-me.com ammar

being a Nabulsi myself, i do not think it is easy to spot a nabulsieh that easily, unless she utters one letter. It is easier to guess Nabulsi men though,
some people cliam that nabulsis have “mas7et Ghalaza” but i cannot see this in you. On the contrary, you look nice with your high cheek-bone

Moey, lol, yeah. I agree that Arab is good.

Nisreen, you know, every time you ever add a comment it’s always about my hair :P This picture is old, my hair is really short now, and red.

    Kinzi,yeah, I agree.

    Lina,lol, I don’t know how he said that. I think it’s funny.

R3d, shu dakhal il 7omos bil noses..?

Red Eclave, yeah. The people of the Levant countries are very intermixed. I can’t tell where in the Levant a person is from is either, except perhaps Syrians, who happen to have blunter features and fairer skin. I think it’s fun :)

MQabbani, yeah. It’s interesting too that people who aren’t Shwam can’t tell our accents apart either, though I always thought that say, my accent is very different from a Lebanese one! Thanks for the compliment :)

    Lilly, thanks :)

Sara, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I do agree that Jordanians are pretty, especially the guys. If you look at random people in Amman, and subtract the ugly clothes and scrub the tired nakad away, you’ll realize that they are. But like I said, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Red Rose, yeah, it’s easy to tell a Sharkasi apart from the rest. I personally feel that Meditterenean people all tend to look similar.. so I thought that broadning the gap down to Nablus was plain freaky.

Lol, and you think I look Nabelseyeh ci Omar? I don’t think you do, though Mohammad might. I guess perhaps it has to do with roundish features..? I don’t know…

Ammar, yeah the accentis always a giver. And lol, mas7et ghalaza? That’s funny.

  • Nick

I always thought that Levantine people are better looking than average, all that intermixing is obviously a good thing. You two are no exception to my observation! :-)

  • ahmad

R3D, if u think her nose is big wait till u c her ears ….

i think she is cute though ….

  • http://thesugarcubes.net Shaden

Well, for some reason most of Nabulsi people are fair and blonde, at least those I’ve met, so I wouldn’t say you’re Nabulsi :-P

People ask me if I’m Syrian all the time. I wonder why.

  • http://iman-a.com Iman

Shaden, yeah…i have the same observation about nabolsies as well …

maybe the reason people ask you if you’re syrian is because you try to speak like them? hummm! (i’m just kidding..ok!)

    People ask me if I’m greek…or italian…rarely do I get Arab…even though I think I look 1000% Arab o min Ramallah kaman …

  • http://thesugarcubes.net Iman

Iman, lol walek we talk to each other and you should know that I don’t sound Syrian. They think I look Syrian.

  • http://thesugarcubes.net Shaden

umm, ok that was me Shaden and not Iman in the last comment. I don’t know what happened!

  • Nar

Well, I don’t know whether it can be judged that u would be Nabulsiya, the fact is you are, allow me to say, nice look young girl..
I’d say that here in Jordan you can tell who is of which origin mostly from just staring at one’s face.. which is not accepted in our society though!
Nice blog.. I’m a frequent visitor..

  • http://queenie.blog.com queenie

I definately think it’s the nose! Most Nabulseyeh have big-ish noses. You actually look a lot like one of my family friends who is also a Nabulseyeh.

  • http://omernos.com/blog omar

    Well, yemken hoan it’s different

I can pick an Arab 10 meters away
and I can pick a Jordanian if they just cough! hahahaha

    omar
